Appe – What is it and who belongs to it?
The Association of Petrochemicals Producers in Europe –Appe- is the voice of the European petrochemical industry and brings together about 95 member companies. These are companies manufacturing ethylene and propylene from steam cracking and/or other olefins, and/or aromatics for chemical use, and/or major first stage petrochemical derivatives (excluding polymer).
Appe is chaired by Mr Huub Meessen, Vice President Europe at Sabic. The Appe Board, representing the cracker operators, meets every quarter and a General Assembly meeting is organised once a year. Check here for an updated list of our members (including affiliated members).
Appe is the Petrochemistry Industry Sector of Cefic, the European Chemical Industry council, representing about 27,000 large, medium and small chemical companies employing approximately 1.2 million people, and accounting for nearly a third of world chemicals production
