LOA Consortium (Lower Olefins & Aromatics)
A new REACH Consortium was launched on 23 June 2008 upon the initiative of the European manufacturers of lower olefins and aromatics substances. The Lower Olefins sector group is part of the petrochemistry industry sector of Cefic (European Chemical Industry Council).
Through the LOA Consortium, the manufacturers have decided to join efforts to prepare consistent registration dossiers covering approximately 130 to 140 substances in 20 categories before 30 November 2010.
The daily management is handled by a team of experts (Penman Consulting, Hunton & Williams, BDO Atrio, Causation Ltd, Experien Health & Science, Hazard-Master, Mike Comber Consulting, Regulatory Science, WCA Environment ) with an in-depth knowledge of REACH, and of petrochemicals processes, gained from practical experience in the olefins, aromatics and related industries. The LOA Consortium is open to any EU and non-EU company manufacturing lower olefins and aromatics as well as importers of these substances. Downstream users and other data holders are also invited to play an active role in the work of the Consortium.
