Butanol REACH Consortium
A new REACh consortium has been launched in February 2009 upon the initiative of the European producers of butanols as organized in the Oxygenated Solvents Producers Association (OSPA), a sector group of CEFIC (European Council of the Chemical Industry).
In this consortium 5 companies have combined their efforts to prepare a consistent registration dossier for n-butanol (CAS number 71-36-3) and 2-methylpropan-1-ol (“iso-butanol”, CAS number 78-83-1) - before 1 December 2010.
The consortium invites all interested parties – other EU manufacturers, non-EU manufacturers, importers, downstream users or other data holders – to join the consortium and play an active role in its REACH works.
