Western European propylene capacity, production and consumption

In 2007, Western European propylene consumption rose up to 16.04 Mt, or 466 kt (3%) higher than in 2006. Over the same time period, the Western European propylene production rose to 15.67Mt, or 322 kt (2%) higher than in 2006.

In 2008, Western European propylene consumption dropped to 14.692 Mt, or 1349 kt (-8.4%) lower than in 2007. The Western European propylene production was 14.75Mt, or 917kt (5.8%) smaller than in 2007.

The steam cracker propylene/ethylene ratio was respectively 51.4 in 2007 and 52.7 in 2008.
