Benzene production, consumption and trade balance

Since 2004, the production of benzene remained at quite the same high level (production grew only by 0.31% from 2005 to 2006 and by 1.75% from 2004).
Production derived from pygas continues to represent the first source of supply with 60% of the total (vs 61% in 2005).

Reformate based production represent 26% (+1% vs 2005) increased by 11.6%. The total achieved production corresponds to an 84% utilization of the nameplace capacity (-3% vs 2005 which was particularly high).
The overall consumption remains at the same level as 2005 but imports increased by 30%.
